Equipment

  • Sheet pan
  • Nonstick spray
  • Large skillet
  • Wooden spoon
  • Microwave

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 (1 oz) packet taco seasoning
  • 6 mini naan flatbreads
  • 1 cup nacho cheese
  • 1 ½ cups shredded taco cheese
  • Optional toppings: jalapeños, diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, sour cream, taco sauce, olives, chopped onions

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F and grease a sheet pan with nonstick spray.
  • Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon until fully cooked. Drain the excess grease. Stir in the water and taco seasoning, then cook until the sauce has thickened.
  • Warm the nacho cheese in the microwave for one minute. Spread the nacho cheese onto the naan breads. Top with the cooked ground beef and shredded taco cheese.
  • Bake for 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown. Finish by topping with your favorite taco toppings and enjoy.

Notes

  • Yes, you can make these in the air fryer. Assemble as instructed, then cook for 3 to 5 minutes at 360°F.
  • To add heat, use hot sauce, jalapeños, sliced chili peppers, or stir in a can of hot Rotel with the meat mixture.
  • For a vegetarian version, swap the meat for black beans or jackfruit. Season with taco seasoning and assemble as instructed.
  • Naan bread is a soft, chewy flatbread that is traditionally baked in a tandoor oven. You can use a large size or a flat bread if you can't find it.
