Homemade Chocolate Frosting (Memere’s Recipe)

This homemade chocolate frosting is rich, smooth, and comes together in minutes. The one I always use for cakes and cupcakes.

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl and mixer
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Country Crock butter spread
  • 2 ½ to 3 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Add the Country Crock to a large mixing bowl. Beat until smooth.
  • Gradually mix in the powdered sugar and cocoa powder until fully combined. Add the vanilla extract and continue beating until the frosting is light and fluffy.
  • Use immediately on cakes or cupcakes, or store until ready to use.
