Equipment

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Medium Saucepan
  • Whisk

Ingredients

  • 1 cup freshly pressed apple cider
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the apple cider, brown sugar, and cinnamon over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, until the sugar dissolves.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Allow the mixture to cool completely.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Notes

• Fresh apple cider creates the richest apple flavor.
• Let the syrup cool completely before transferring it to a storage container.
• Stir into coffee, lattes, chai, cocktails, or hot apple cider.
• The syrup will thicken slightly as it cools.
• Shake or stir before using if it has been sitting in the refrigerator.
