’Tis the season to spend a little extra time making something sweet for family, friends, and neighbors! Even one batch of homemade cookies makes a thoughtful gift. And if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, I have plenty of Christmas cookie box ideas to help you put together a bigger assortment. You don’t need the fanciest box or a dozen different treats. A little time and something made with love go a long way in a season of giving. These are some of my tried-and-true recipes, from classic cookies to easy no-bake treats you can make with the kids. Pick a favorite or a few, pull out the mixing bowls, and save a little taste for yourself!

A Christmas cookie box with a little of everything
My box includes White Chocolate Raspberry Cookies, Grinch Puppy Chow, Cornflake Cookies, and Whipped Shortbread Cookies. Two baked cookies, two no-bake treats, and plenty of different flavors and textures. Those four recipes come first below, followed by more cookies and treats to swap in or add to your own box.
Pick a few recipes you have time for, check how long each needs to chill or set, and keep everything separately stored until you are ready to pack. Let the cookies cool completely and bag the puppy chow so the powdered sugar stays where it belongs!
1. White Chocolate Raspberry Cookies
Soft, chewy cookies with sweet white chocolate and tart raspberries give this box a fruity option alongside the chocolate and peanut butter treats. They have lightly crisp edges and a little color without any decorating.
2. Grinch Puppy Chow
Green candy melts, peanut butter, crushed candy canes, and heart sprinkles give this crunchy Chex mix its Grinchmas look. Pack it in a small food-safe bag inside your box to keep the powdered sugar from coating everything else.
3. Cornflake Cookies
These no-bake peanut butter cookies bring the crunch! Crispy cornflakes get coated in a sweet peanut butter mixture and scooped into clusters, leaving the oven open for your baked cookies.
4. Hot Chocolate Fudge
Milk chocolate, hot chocolate mix, and mini marshmallows turn a mug of hot cocoa into little squares of fudge. Give it time to set before cutting, then tuck the pieces into candy cups to keep them separate from the cookies.
5. Butter Pecan Cookies
Rich, buttery dough and crunchy pecans make these a good choice for someone who loves butter pecan ice cream. Add them when you want a nutty cookie alongside chocolate or fruity treats.
6. Brown Sugar Cookies
Browned butter and dark brown sugar give these cookies a deep, caramel-like flavor. A coating of turbinado sugar adds crunch around the soft, chewy centers.
7. Rolo Cookies
These soft chocolate cookies hide a Rolo in the center for a little caramel surprise. Plan for the dough to chill, and cover each candy completely so the caramel stays tucked inside while baking.
8. Chocolate Chipless Cookies
For the person who loves the cookie part of a chocolate chip cookie, here you go! These have soft, chewy centers and lightly crisp edges, giving your box a simple option alongside the loaded treats.
9. Ranger Cookies
Oats, coconut, puffed rice cereal, and chocolate chips pack plenty of texture into these cookies. Choose them when you want chewy centers, crispy edges, and a little bit of everything in one bite.
10. Monster Cookies
Peanut butter, oats, chocolate chips, and M&M’s make these a loaded cookie option. They bring several familiar cookie flavors together, so they fit right in with a mix of holiday favorites.
11. Cake Mix Cookie Bars
Start with white cake mix and bake the dough in one pan. These chocolate chip bars have a soft, almost cake-like texture, and you can cut them into portions that fit your box without scooping individual cookies.
12. Brown Butter Blondies
Brown butter gives these white chocolate blondies a deep, toasty flavor. Let the pan cool completely before slicing so you get neat squares for packing.
13. Chocolate No Bake Cookies
Cocoa, peanut butter, and quick-cooking oats come together on the stovetop for these chewy no-bake cookies. Leave room on the counter for them to set while you work on another recipe.
14. Grinch Rice Krispies Treats
Green marshmallow cereal treats get a chocolate drizzle and heart sprinkles for a little Whoville fun. They are best enjoyed the day they are made, so save these for the end of your baking schedule.
15. Dubai Chocolate Puppy Chow
Milk chocolate, pistachio cream, and tahini coat crunchy Rice Chex in this twist on puppy chow. The cereal supplies the crunch, so this version does not need kataifi. Package it separately inside the box.
16. Dubai Chocolate Bark
Toasted kataifi adds crunch to chocolate bark mixed with pistachio butter and tahini. There are no chocolate molds to fill. Spread it on a lined sheet pan, let it set, and break it into pieces for your box.
A few tips before you pack your cookie box
Give everything time to cool and set. Pack warm cookies or soft chocolate too soon and you will have a sticky situation before the lid is even on.
Separate the treats. Bag puppy chow, tuck fudge into candy cups, and keep crisp and soft cookies in separate sealed packaging to help preserve their textures. Paper liners organize portions but do not make an airtight barrier.
Check storage directions. Follow each recipe’s requirements, including refrigeration where needed. The shortest storage window applies when treats share a box.
Add a little note. Include the treat names, storage instructions, and relevant allergens based on the ingredients you used.
